It was my hubby's birthday on Saturday and I bought him the PS2 Game - The Getaway. How cool?

Loads of realistic shots of London and loads of Lexus cars!!! Lot's of IS200's and LS430's. AND the gangsters drive SC430's. Cool. Almost makes me enthusiastic over 'pointless' computer games

Have you driven the purple IS430 yet though ? The Triads chase you in them, but if you stop then draw them away from it before shooting them, you can nick it undamaged and make off.

The breakout mission with the LS430 is cool too. Top tip, the quickest way to the Court rom Whitehall is to drive the wrong way round Trafalgar Sqaure and go up the Strand the wrong way ! Doesn't matter if the Police see you because the LS can outrun them easily.

There is also supposed to be a Lexus concept car hidden somewhere which you can find at then end of the game when you have the run of London.

I'm glad you bought it for your husband. I bought my copy and my wife now wants to divorcee me after 3 days of it (it will be worth it thought ).

I wish my life had room for a PS 2

think I am on the verge of some chrstmas related depression or maybe I just woke up and felt I couldn't be good at my job and have a relationship......again.

Er, mission? I may have missed the point of the game somewhat. I've been chasing pedestrians, crashing into buses and going the wrong way down one-way streets.

My husband was up till am playing this game. I've heard of golf widows but this is ridiculous

It is frighteningly addictive. Would be better with a speedo, I want to actually know I was doing over a ton down Fleet Street in an LS430 !

If your husband finishes it, he'll unlock the free roaming mode and then you can do whatever you want. I'm a bit disappointed that my current and former workplaces are not shown (unless I went by too fast !!!).

did they actually use brand names on the back of the car?

Like Grand Auto theft you recognise the cars but the badges are different... legal reasons!

Oh yes, the [img]http://www.lexus.co.uk/graphics/common/lex_logo.gif[/img] badges are very prominent. You can even make out model numbers on some cars.

The pedestrians jump out of the way though, sometimes you have to turn around a couple of times before you hit them

BTW, I promise I don't usually advocate this type of behaviour

oh yeah forgot to mention i jus finished work and went to asda and got a copy of the game. see how it compares to vice city

ok been playin getaway since last nite and its quite a good game. i jus finished the mission where u have to kill that copper in the cop shop and u get that yasmin to come help u after. like the cars nice to see lexus in there. first car i boosted was a blue IS like mine then i crashed it and was ****** off

BUT................ i prefer vice city!!!!!!!!!! its a better game. more to do. when ur driving u can do drive-by's and pop some innocent pedestrian u can go get chased by another gang so they follow u into ur gang members then they start a big war and u rob there cash wen they die.

steal helicopters sea planes, boats, harleys, superbikes etc. insane stunts. u can buy properties. i got the porn studios and a strip club plus some others.

How well do you know London ? I know London really well and I think that helps the reality thing. Hammering down a road you used to walk down every day like Fleet Street is soooo much fun.

One slight unrealism is that nobody gets too worked up about you diving around in the traffic. If you really did that in London everyone would go mental.

Will be trying New Vice City next, if only for the soundtrack.

dnt know london at all. been to Hackney a few times and the palace but that about it.
