hi guys, i have just treated myself to a v300 aristo for xmas. not a bad present is it. boy, it is ffaaaaaaaaassssssttttttttt. i hope i have a good time with this car. i intend to keep it as long as possible.

what sort of things should i be doing or not doing with this car. someone mentioned OCTANE BOOSTER for good fuel consumption and engine performance. can anyone explain this to me. this may sound stupid but do i use super unleaded or normal unleaded petrol.

i think now that i have the car i need to find myself a friend that owns a petrol station. cos i have been in and out several times for the last two days. but anyway the ridel covers for the fuel loss so am not complaining

it has 57000 miles on the clock when is it due a cam belt change. i will be happy to hear from anyone. does anyone know what the red button in front of the gear knob is.

Te red button in front of the gear knob is so you can move the shifter without the keys in the ignition.

When the keys are not in the ignition it is impossible to move... keep your finger on the red button and the shifter is able to move.

handy if you want to roll the car back a bit without having to get your keys out etc.

I use Shell Optimax in mine or Super Unleaded, I find that I more mileage if I use Shell but then I do like to play now & then.

Try not use the O/D when you're doing less than 70 Mph, it will damage the clutch (well, one of the many) found out through trial and expensive error.

The cam on these needs to be done approx every 60K miles. So may want to start looking at getting it done now if your motor has done 57K or is that in Kph like mine.

Mine has only done 70K Kph - approx 45 - 50 K Miles

Super Unleaded is best in my opinion - big gains in smoothess and performance when using this over normal unleaded. I've steered away from Optimax now - I had problems with the sensors on the engine when I'd ran with this a couple of times and although I can't categorically say the fuel was the problem, I haven't had any problems since I've stopped using it some 8 months ago.

Octane should be around 100 for your Aristo.

Optimax fuel is fine, in fact v.good with octane booster.

Lag is reduced greatly by having correct octane, incorrect octane e.g.95 for normal fuel, 97 for Super Unleaded, 98 for Optimax will give turbo lag and damage pistons at high revs.
