OK... I recently stripped out my cd player due to error code 3 which is quite common and fitted my own cd player.
Now I am hearing that if I get my hands on a UK dvd sat nav system and simply swap it over the sat nav will work.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IS IT WORTH BUYING A UK CD PLAYER AND A UK SAT NAV SYSTEM AND FITTING IT BACK INTO MY CAR?
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP TO CLEAR THIS UP.[/quote]
Im in the same boat, theres a few units floating around on ebay:

Im goin to order one and try it out and see what happens, if it doesnt re-sell it on ebay!

Why bother with all the hassle of fitting and wiring it to end up with (by all accounts) a satnav system that is inferior to a portable system like TomTom? Bear in mind you also need to source and fit an antenna as well.
ps a bit

but I like the new sig

Well im just going to try and hook it up to the existing wiring thats already there from the jap nav, connections look similar on my box and one on ebay. i don't really need a nav system anyway. I know my way around dublin! It would just be nice to have the factory screen displaying something in English! If it doesn't work ill try get a dvd player working through the factory screen.
And it only costs 70 euro for the unit! compared to a few hundred like TomToms!

(You inspired the sig MAC!)
