OK... I recently stripped out my cd player due to error code 3 which is quite common and fitted my own cd player.

Now I am hearing that if I get my hands on a UK dvd sat nav system and simply swap it over the sat nav will work.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IS IT WORTH BUYING A UK CD PLAYER AND A UK SAT NAV SYSTEM AND FITTING IT BACK INTO MY CAR?

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP TO CLEAR THIS UP.

Why bother with all the hassle of fitting and wiring it to end up with (by all accounts) a satnav system that is inferior to a portable system like TomTom? Bear in mind you also need to source and fit an antenna as well.

ps a bit :offtopic: but I like the new sig B)

Well im just going to try and hook it up to the existing wiring thats already there from the jap nav, connections look similar on my box and one on ebay. i don't really need a nav system anyway. I know my way around dublin! It would just be nice to have the factory screen displaying something in English! If it doesn't work ill try get a dvd player working through the factory screen.

And it only costs 70 euro for the unit! compared to a few hundred like TomToms!

:offtopic: (You inspired the sig MAC!) :D

error 3 code is a jamed CD, isnt it?

I had that and i can get the cd out but it distroys the cd in 90% of cases. If anyone has an old stereo that the cd is stuck in and want it fixed. send it too me and ill get them out, all I ask is that you pay the postage to me and back.
