I remember in London years ago in Park Lane the council came and put down a new road surface making the height of the traffic lights 3 ins less. One motorist got done for a traffic light offence. He measured the height of the traffic lights and they were 3 ins too short . He was not prosecuted and other motorists who had been done around that time and fined got their fines repaid and sentences squashed.

I remember watching a program on telly recently when Eric Bristow said the reason all the Professional darts players were crap on TV's Bullseye, was because the dartboard on Bullseye was 8" higher than competition boards.

All signs, lights and lines have to conform to lengths widths heights colours locations.
If they dont look right and you get stuffed its worth researching their setups and proving them wrong and challenging the ticket etc. That goes for anything including speed cameras
