My eldest Son is absolutely terrified after a seminar at school and all the TV news coverage.

All weekend I have had "are we gong to be bombed Daddy", are we gong to be poisoned Daddy?", who is going to look after me if you and Mummy get murdered by terrorists?"

Kids should not have this pressure. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

What happenned to the good old days?

I know what you mean Mark.

Thankfully my kids are not yet old enough to watch the news - Disney Playhouse is more their thing.

It's odd IMO that we apply censorship to many films and there's a 9 o'clock watershed for violence etc on the TV, but the world news has some very scary stuff indeed in it.

Mark,

Holy cow, they feeding this stuff in schools now? I would be having serious words with them, the news you can't stop but at least you are able to censor that at home.

What you mean the good old days of Mutually Assured Destruction :nuke: , weren't they great ;) ?

Lets face it, there will probably always be some bunch of loonies who don't agree with us and want to kill us as a result. Given what Britain survived in the 20th Century, a few tea-towel wearers shouldn't be too much to worry about !!!

Just tell your eldest son that he will have much more to fear in the future, if we do not get rid of the likes of Saddam now.

I fear for my son and my grandchildren (no i'm not that old yet)... what lies ahead for them?

Though sometimes i do feel if you hit the bee's nest with a stick you had better run!

The only thing I had to worry about when I was a Nipper (no not getting eaten by a Dinosoar), was whether my bike tyres were pumped up enough. No front doors were ever closed in our street and everyone knew each other.

There is too much pressure on kids today - if there isn't some rodent pushing drugs on them, they are bombarded with messages about sex, death and destruction.

Someone tell me the answer please.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I have no intention of bringing a child into modern britain........held that view since 1983 when it was first raised in an earlier relationship.........

Just look about you...............
