Hi all,

In the last few days i have noticed a burning rubber type smell from the drivers side rear wheel area...

what could it be? I'm planning on taking the wheel off tomorrow to have a look, so.... what do you think i should check first?

btw i put new rear pads on about a month ago..... could it be the brakes?

cheers

Did you change it yourself? Did you put the separater clips back in properly (the ones that hold the two pads apart when there is no pressure on the brake pads?)

Check that first, that would be my initial thought, unless your car has been lowered and scrubs around corners (sometimes depending on cars, scrubbing cant be heard from inside the cabin, but evidence can be seen on tires, gaurds, inner gaurds etc.)

Let us know how you get on with it.

Yeah i agree with xnickx probably a sticking calliper or likes. if you just had new pads

burning rubber smell is very very common - its the rubber around the exhaust.
