Not really disloyal as all in the family, but anyone seen the previews of the new Avensis?
What a super looking car - at least I think so! It's certainly bigger than the old version and appears to be Passat size.
If it is as good in the metal as on paper, it will eat into the Mondeo/Passat/Vectra market. I'm told the starting price with good spec should be around £ 14k.

Hmm... looking at the rear of that shot somehow reminds me of a Mercedes C or S class. Am I imagining that?

I'm not sure if it looks more like a vectra, audi a4 or a mondeo - it's so bland. I hope they're saving all their design ideas for the new IS200.

Quite a few brands in that mixture, the rear looks similar to a Volvo S60.

The front is nastier version of the Vectra/Passat. the back is worthy of a blinking Dawoo!!
All in all its is bound to be the best car in its class for a while after launch but only hardcore Toyota or jap car buyers are gonna go for it. Its freaky deaky! I do not see fleet buyers going crazy buck wild over that.... No, Sir!
But that is just my humble oppinion...

Bland, bland, bland!
Toyota want to take serious look at the Primera and new Accord before putting it loose on our streets. 147BHP is down on the Accord's 155BHP. At least Honda are now realising people want bigger engine choices than 1.8 and 2.0.

DJANDERSON,
You mention the dreaded subject of engine choice. How many engines does and IS Owner have? or a GS owner, *** frobid we call into question the LS or SC...
Ps. have you all seen the new RX300. its like the mk1 Sierra only higher and from Japan...

Correct me if I'm right, but wasn't the last Avensis model the best selling car in the world?

Yup, Lexus need to offer better engine choices too.
Question, how can Nissan extract 300BHP from a 3.5 V6, but a 4.3 V8 lump from Lexus can only manage 300BHP too?

I think that was the even more bland Corolla.
PS, Someone over on the Honda-R club has a signature saying "The car in front is .. in my way"!!
