thinking about putting set of 18x8 on
anyone with them care to pass comment on:ride, handling etc compared to stock seventeens
Zee007
Hi Bazza,

Not sure if you saw my motor at Brooklands, but I recently changed from the standard IS200 17's to 18X8J Mania Alloys.

Yes, there is a noticable difference in handling and ride comfort. Handling better, ride quality a little stiffer (but mine is lowered too). My front wheels catch the inner arch right at the front so the plastic needs heating a little but other than that, they went on easily.

I am glad I made the change - but have kept the 17's for winter........ does that help? Any other questions?
Nick
You can buy modified wheel arch liners which you need with the Lexus 18" wheels so maybe you could do with one of these.

Never knew that - I'll give Martin a call this afternoon Nick - just need them for the front........ could solve all my problems...! :D

Where can you get these modified wheel arch liners?
I'm running 19's, but on full lock they lightly scrape the stock liner.

hi zee
yes i remember seeing it
you must be one of a few who helped me make my mind up in going bigger

is the rubbing due to being lowered ?
if so what are the the limits to lowering
mine isnt yet cause of worrying about warranty, should at least run it in !!

Great to hear it Bazza! I am unsure as ro what it is that's causing the rubbing - could be the 8j rim or the fact it's lowered 25mm. its only at the front though - and as Duncan says, his don't so I don't know.... but should be resolved soon!

Either way, bigger wheels look ace mate....! B)

Nice one!

What offset did you use on the 18x8? What about you too Zee?

Wheels are a few months away for me, methinks, butwann make sure I do it right. Also, where did you get your wheels from guys? I've seen OZ's all over the place, but not seen racing Mania wheels online.

I've got a younger brother in Japan, so am thinking of getting some imported. Despite the shipping costs, given the exchange rate, JDM wheels could work out around par with getting them over here, but they'd be more unique :shruriken:
