are the discs and pads on the 300 same as the 200?..im thinking of getting mintex pads but what discs do you recomend?

Yes, they are the same ... all the way upto a GS430.

Mintex pads work very well with standard OEM discs. I doubt you'll get a noticable difference changing the discs unless you're spending silly money. However on ebay you'll frequently find Mintex brake boxes which contain discs and pads for around £110 which is a good price. It's a popular choice because the pads aren't much cheaper than that on their own so it's a good buy. Black Diamond are very good but you'll pay around £400-500 for a full set compared to £200 for the Mintex stuff. Pads alone will come in around £120-150. My advice, get Mintex pads and Mintex discs or just the pads and stick with standard discs. Both these are popular combinations.
