I'm a consultant with no fixed place of work and as a result can claim my travelling expenses (petrol, train fares) back against my income tax liability( not to my work HQ)

In effect they will pay you 25/40% (depends on what % tax u pay) of either 45p a mile or your train fare. I've just got £1600 back for 18 months with another £1000 due for 2002/3.

Even if you get paid mileage (i get an enormous 25p a mile for travel outside the M25 !) they will pay you 25/40% of the difference or offset that against the profit element.

So give it a go ! any queries PM me...........everyone in the company I work for has claimed this & been successful :yahoo:

Its helping pay for my supercharger :yahoo: :yahoo:
