Someone on another post (I forget who, sorry) mentioned about the buffers that you can get from Halfords/Argos etc. etc.

I've never used one before, and so was after everybody's opinion on them?

I'm very very VERY careful of my car, and a bit of a perfectionist to be honest, so I'm used to spending hours upon hours getting it just right - but wondered if anyone's had good experiences / bad experiences with them, and if you'd recommend getting one (and if so which one!?!)

Thanks for any comments at all

Definately interested in peoples thoughts, I was pondering getting one of these myself.

I think the cheapest one is in Argos, seems a bit over priced in Halfords.

I got given one for Christmas but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Picked up some Teflon polish from Halfords and am planning to give it a go over the weekend. I'll let you know how I get on - I like the sound of any labour saving devices ;)

Thanks Claire !!

V. interested to know if they are the best thing since sliced bread, or whether to leave them on the shelves in halfords.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of good old elbow grease, think it gives a better finish when doing by hand

I have one of the polishers from Halfords (the mains one NOT the 12v one) - works a treat!

IMO leave then on the shelve.
Leave machine polishing to the pro's.

just purchased the proffesional mains model, two handed grips, two bonnet covers
rrp was £39.99 at motormania, now on sale at £16.99 seems a good buy,
used it on my bmw last week and was brilliant on the large areas, willbe trying it on the lexus when the weather comes right

I guess you have to be really careful you don't have any dirt on them or you'll end up with huge circles the car. I'm a but paranoid given the fragility of the Lexus paint.....

Are the buffer pads easy to clean?

Equate a good manual polish as a mini work out. Its good for your health !
Scorpion
Yep i've got one and cant recommend em highly enough
so esy to use,comes with (2)applicators (1)polishing.
just pour the polish on to the pad, offer up to bodywork
work in criss cross action cover car then change pad to
polishing, take off then go over hard access areas, door
handles, intake by foglights, door shuts etc by hand
then wax..........easy peasy for poultry money!!!!!!!!!
the secret is to let the machine do the work dont press down
on bodywork, does'nt leave any swirl marks
can wash, polish and wax car in 90 mins easy!!
cloths wash out in machine.
Results:check out page 75 in the gallery!!!!!!

sorry for long explination,go on a bit dont i

cheers Pete :D :D
