In November 2005, I bought 4 second-hand IS200 16" wheels and fitted new 205/55x16 Michelin Pilot Alpins, for the IS300 Sportcross I owned then. They made a massive difference for snowy road work. The car was also much more sure-footed when cold and frosty, due to the tyres working better at low temperatures.

I didn't use them last winter as I no longer needed to drive if it snows, so my wheels are up for sale. There is some typical corrosion on the alloys, but the tyres have only seen one season, no damage or punctures, and have at least 7 mm tread on them. They all have the plastic centre hub cover. I'm looking for £50 per wheel or £180 for all 4. Buyer to collect or arrange carriage. Be aware I live 20 miles north of Aberdeen.

Hi Rob. You're right but since it's not a legal requirement fit them in the UK, it seems very few people here can see their benefit. Pity, because they are just languishing in my garage doing nothing. We just don't get enough snow it seems.

Maybe I should give them to my son who just loves selling stuff on ebay.........
