Not sure, need advice please!

I’m thinking of changing my IS300 and have had a new GS300 on trial but it had an annoying noise.
This was quite a high pitched noise that I found intrusive, not the normal tyre swish you get with a car that is very quiet. This started at around 30 and just stayed there over most road surfaces though did disappear when the road was very smooth, which sort of point towards the tyres

I spoke with the garage and they thought it was due to the Yokohama tyres, they said Lexus was changing over to Bridgestone tyres but I think that may have been sales speak?

Are there any GS owners out there that have this and solved it? At the moment I’m holding off a decision till I know more.

I did like the GS a lot it was very smooth, though I’d like to try the bigger engine before deciding

Hi.

Mine is fitted with Dunlop SP Sports. Standard fitting as far as I know, since I bought the car with only 5k on the clock (previously owned by Lexus GB). The car is really smooth and has very little tyre noise at all, certainly nothing like you have described.

I tried the 430 before I bought mine, but to be honest I prefered the 300 for a slightly smoother drive.

I also went from an IS300 to the GS, and have never regreted it. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks Ian. It is good to know you have found the GS 300 a good move, I liked the GS a lot.
