I have been thinking for a while about swapping the GS300 and / or the IS300 for the SC430. With the GS being the latest model I'm concerned about buying and then they bring a new model out. How long has current model been out, and anyone got any idea when it is due to be replaced?

came out in 2001, been going since...

if German "rules" apply, then small race'y coupé's are replaced every 8yrs.

so.. 2009 the new one is out?

ok thanks, might just hang on then, as that was when i originally planned to switch the GS when the warranty runs out

I bought my SC-430 last Christmas... a 53. still smile almost every time when I drive it! the best car I own; have ever owned --- pure class . Sure you can put it off another couple years and buy the new model for £55 - £60K...

or just go out over the next couple months, get yourself an awesome SC for anywhere from £20 - £35K - (you're coming up on the best time of year to find a gem of a deal).. and absolutely love life for the next 4 years in it, then go out and get the new model with very low miles at a great "2 year old" discount.

I spent years holding off on purchases and in the last year got my SC and a NSX.... so, so, so glad I did it now when I was young rather than waiting another 3 - 5 years as I was planning.

You only live once. enjoy it. (within reason, of course smile.gif )

Anyway.. that's my 2 p worth...

as an indicator of what you can 'maybe' find.. a mate of mine got a 54 with 80K on the clock for £20,400 a couple weeks back. Must have been a quick trip around the world or something as the interior / drive is in excellent condition...

I think what S C BERKS say makes sense.
Why not get yourself a new toy and enjoy for the next few years.
You maybe in a good postion in a few years to update to the new model.
Sounds like win win win.
I love my SC430 so does the wife.
Never heard of anyone that has bought one and not enjoyed it.
Still your choice what ever you decide.

Go for it you won't regret it, had mine for 18 months and still get a big smile on my face everytime I get in it.
