This is going to sound like a really stupid question, but I don't really know too much about Paypal, and have only used it a few times to pay for things I've bought on ebay, or on here, etc......

Someone needs to pay me money by credit card, so I'm thinking Paypal is the easiest way to do this, but don't really know where to start and the help section doesn't seem to be very useful.

Basically, all I really need to know is how do I do it, and how much do they charge for this?

If anyone is used to using Paypal or knows where the answers are, please let me know as it would be much appreciated! :D

Thanks in advance! :)

As soon as the other person signs up and adds their credit card, they can send you money by logging in and hitting send money. They enter your email address and how much and hit send.
Not sure how much they charge though, think if its under a certain amount its free.

Unless the process has changed any :)
Just like when you send money to JohnBoy after sponsoring him for his charity swim :whistling:

Does this other person not have cheques?

Paypal charges for any signifigant amount are astronomical. Received a payment of £2000 recently and they charged me 3.4%...£68 for what? Still hurting.

Cheers for all the replies - is it always 3.4% then? Not really bothered about fees as I'm going to pass them on, just want to know how much they are so I get everything back ;)

Seems straightforward enough then, hopefully it all works fine!

Thanks again :)

one other option i've seen people do abroad is if you know someone local with a shop etc. ask them to run the card through their machine, and get him to pay you less the fees charged. Generally most fees are around 1.25 - 2%.
