However, I have recently tried a new car-care regime called Dodo Juice, which I was attracted to because of it's amusing name, yes I am easily pleased! I decided to order some after hearing lots of positive stuff about it on the interweb. When I came to order it, it became apparent that it wasn't simply a case of buying the one thing and that being the end of it, I was presented with a choice of 8 products, soft or hard wax all designed to work with different couloured paint. There are products called Orange Crush, Banana Armour, Purple Haze, Light Fantastic and so on. I opted for a soft wax designed for dark cars which made my choice Purple Haze - specifically for dark cars as it contains a dark caranuba wax which deepens colour. I also chose a bottle of Lime Prime, a pre-wax polish and paint cleaner. Costing me £50 for the two, they came the next day and I did my usual regime of wash with Meguiars Gold Class car shampoo, it was time for a clay so I used clay with Speed Detailer to get a nice smooth finish, then I applied Lime Prime to prepare the surface and remove any imperfections and finally apply a coat of Dodo Juice. The amusing thing about it, other than the name, is the fact that it's best applied with your fingers which leaves your neighbours thinking you're barking mad but ultimately a fabulous finish. Hurts your hands to buggery though. It goes on and comes off very easily and when I took it off I was just totally shocked at the result - a sight to behold. The paint is smooth, deep and rich and did, in all honesty put Meguiars to shame. I applied another coat the next day as advised and the same result again. I'm now a total Dodo convert and looking forward to trying their other products on different cars. Yes it's better than Meguiars, but Meguiars is still a fabulous product. The Dodo however, just gets the honours.
