The other day I was pumping up the tyres on my 2004 LS430 as the front nearside likes to go down on its own for no reason I can find. Whilst pumping up the tyre (using my electric tyre pump) I had a play about with the high setting on the suspension. It seemed to go up by an inch or two. I was just wondering what you might use this setting for?

Many thanks.

The manual says it's for riding on rougher ground, gives a bit more clearance before reaching the suspension limits I guess. I think it only operates at relatively slow speeds, if you speed up I think it would return to its normal height.

I asked my Lexus dealer about it when I noticed the button did nothing when parked. They said it was a "Ferry Lift" - for driving up ramps, and operated only at speeds abot 2.5 mph. I use when driving over speed humps.

It's also good for when you are on a rougher road and want to be able to go a little faster than usual...
It doesn't drop till you hit 60mph.

By the way, when the car is high up, it looks better. So when I am sitting in traffic, I put it up high and feel like a gangster...
