Hi People,

I am a new member just recently bough an IS 200... The radio does not work!! well actually the radio and tape work fine but i have an err3 on the CD Player... I cannot load any CD's.Was like this when i got it but he gave me a good deal because of it and said i could go to owners club website to get some advice!

I had a friend look at it for me, he seems to say that a cable is missing from it!! in the back of the radio ? how many cables should their be? Their seems to be two connection sockets in the back but only one cable? is this for something else?

Would appreciate any advice... or please point me in the right directions

Thanks

Err 3 normally means its knackered mate.

If you do a search for Is200 stereo then theres plenty of threads on what to do.

Welcome anyway.

Like sparky says....Err3=knackered cd/radio/tape unit.

You have 2 options....

Option 1: replace the standard (knackered) unit with a aftermarket headunit. You will need a facia adaptor and a by-pass lead- both can be sourced from ebay. Plug in a headunit of your choice.

Option 2: repair the standard (knackered) unit. Autosound (google Autosound) will repair the unit, but this will cost about £250...

Use the search function to find posts on ERR3- this will help to answer any follow up questions you might have.

Welcome to LOC btw.

That is normal - the empty socket is for mini-disc or external CD changer. You can also use it to plug in the GromAudio ipod connector which is what I did when my H-U went Err3.

Hi

I find the same problem sometimes. I suppose a CD is left in CD changer. I discovered some CDs block in changer, especially with black edge. Check if you managed to pull out al CDs if not you can try to eject them mechanically or go to a service and ask them to do that.
