Full Version: Importing A Lexus Is F In Ultrasonic Blue

I was hoping you could give me some guidance on importing a Lexus IS F in Ultrasonic Blue from Japan.

The advantages and Dis-advantages, I have a few questions below, thanks.

What attributes do I need to look for in a reputable importer?

Ho would the whole process work? Naturally I would like to see the car first before I make any decision.

How would a Lexus dealership feel about servicing etc on a Japanese import?

Would the Japanese import model have the steering, controls etc same as a UK model i.e. on the right hand side?

How would the Sat Nav and various other multi media controls work would they be Japanese? How would I convert them to English speaking and talking? How much would that cost?

How would payment etc work?

Your help and any other information I need to know about importing a Lexus IS F would be really appreciated.

Thanks again.

Try Miguel from Newera, for link click...> Newera

can also Power vehicles

those are 2 very well respected importers, i used to use Newera alot myself

Ho would the whole process work? Naturally I would like to see the car first before I make any decision.

if you use either of those 2 companies, they will keep you fully in the loop, almost daily emails to you, with full pictures and explinations of whats what

How would a Lexus dealership feel about servicing etc on a Japanese import?

Some dealers wont, but most dont have an issue with it, it is after all, a lexus, however you could use Toyota

Would the Japanese import model have the steering, controls etc same as a UK model i.e. on the right hand side?

the steering is on the rh side, only difference may be the wiper/indicater stalks are reversed

How would the Sat Nav and various other multi media controls work would they be Japanese? How would I convert them to English speaking and talking? How much would that cost?

the nav, will not work, most Japanese systems are harddrive based, whereas european systems are CD rom based as we need to change discs etc etc... its possible to convert, but not easy as on the modern cars the system is integrated

How would payment etc work?

if you contact Newera or powervehicles they will explain better but normally the price your quoted would be FOB, freight on Board, after that you will pay import duty and vat, plus any shipping fees still payable

Your help and any other information I need to know about importing a Lexus IS F would be really appreciated.

as i said speak with Miguel from newera, and power vehicles, and truust me, they will alleviate any fears or put to rest any questions you may have

i have tried to do the work myself before, but was a little disapointed in the result of the cars that turned up, i used Newera, and the car arrived better than i thought

Thanks again.
