basically found where the boost is leaking on my car, from the Inlet manifold,
because i dont have a seal in it. Apparently its the seal from inside the Standard airbox connection but there isnt one on my old Airbox.
So if anyone has one hanging about or they don't need i'd be more than greatful.
Stav
u mean where the U shaped cast aluminium pipe connects to the throttle body??

TTE? could you not go to a breakers and get one?
get one from any dealers or a scrap place - im very surprised u are getting any boost levels if the gasket is missing as its quite a big seal.

Can't help you find one mate but I'm glad you found the source of your problems. Hopefully sourcing this part will get your car up to the power it should be!

Well the good news is.
Had a proper clean out of the shed today and found it right in the corner of the shed on the floor!!!
All installed now and finally i have the boost i should do!!!
Thanks to everyone for help.
MODS PLEASE CLOSE.
Stav
i still cant believe you were getting any boost or at least just short of the normal pressure - would be interesting to see if this cures the small pressure loss- u will have to let me know if it works out - remember to do the difference between ambient when engine is not running and when ur at max RPM.

It is working Rob
My boost gauge now peaks at just a tad over .3 whereas before it was just reaching .2

ah right - i thought u were getting close to standard pressure last time we had a chat! get the obd on and get a more accurate figure to see if there is still a small leak somewhere.

Jan 6 2008, 06:11 PM
No Rob, was never managing over .2 bar,
Problem is with the obd rader it wont give me an accurate figue.
It will upto .24bar but then the TTE black box gives the false figure so it wont go any higher,
Stav
ill have to try it on mine again and see what figure it gives- think mine was over that...? - ill let u know anyway and hope this little seal has helped u to get the most out of the kit.

The boost reading shouldnt go over 18.04 ish.
Thats the false reading given by the Chip.

Chris you'll be ok mate its a seal for the airbox, the induction kit doesn't use it as it fits in the seals place?

Thats correct thats why mine was lost, cause i took it off to fit the induction kit then didnt refit it when i fitted the charger.
So it got lost in my shed.

Its feels so much better,
My BOV makes more noise now and its great seeing the boost gauge go right upto .3. The car does feel quicker as well.
Need to RR it really.

thats good then matey

Like you say a RR would be good now just to see if you have got some of the bhp back and see how much difference its made by fitting it ?
