hi, need a new cat and exhaust, lexus dealer has quoted £1079.00 fitted, engineer knocked out the cat when fitting a clutch and listed exhaust as blowing at flange. have looked on e-bay and can get a stainless exhaust, blue flame or cobra for around £250-270, though do not want a much louder pipe if poss, enquired about a cat online with the catman and he has asked if its a underfloor cat or front manifold cat??? i havnt got a clue so if anyone can let me know so i can get a price on one, also if anyone knows of a good stainless exhaust etc any info would be appreciated. thanks

not sure which one he knocked out matt, wasnt aware there was more than one, had my IS for 4 years as well! will try and find out asap and let you know, cheers, Adrian

i have a rear exhaust section that was removed a few years ago you can have that for FREE but u need to cover the cost of postage or arrange collection yourself - its in penzance so 1.5 hrs drive from u

The IS has two sets of cats.

Two in the exhaust manifold and one in the centre section (under the car) its likely he knocked the undercar one.

But surely if he did it, he should pay for it?
