Filled the machine up with Shell Optimax as recommended by TDi today...cost £50 for a tank full (warning light on)

Pulled away and it felt like it had had the ECU chipped or something whilst I was paying for the petrol :whistling:

well worth the extra 4p a litre :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

You will probably get your 4p a litre back in better economy too Dave, as the ecu will not be riding on the knock the sensor.

When the knock sensor is operational the ignition is retarded which is bad for power, bad for economy and can overheat the catalytic converter (which is not the strongest cat in the world).

Strongly recommend Optimax for the higher octane.
Much better for the thermal efficiency and cleaner exhaust, certainly blows the cobwebs away :hehe: :D :hehe:
