I asked about one when my wife got hers fitted to the Zafira.
The towbar fitter said he can get one for a Toyota and modify it for the Lex, At a cost.
but he wouldnt fit the electrics as the lexus electrics are a nightmare for towbars.
He said the car isnt designed for towing thats why there isnt a dedicated bar for it.
I took his advice and promptly forgot about fitting one.
whitter make one for it. and ive seen several others on ebay.
The Owners manual states tow weights, so whoever told you that cant be too hot on the subject, best get that zafira one checked out.. sounds like Tontos mate fitted it!!!

Lexus list a detachable towbar in there accessories booklet for the is200? there was one for sale on ebay last week as i looked into buying it and there are a few Witter ones for sale on there now? heres one item number 190189058785
