Can anyone help with opening up the IS220 (manual) console box? I need to do that as a first step to the satnav mod. There are detailed instructions on the ClubLexus (USA) site but it refers to an auto box. The metal strips and the console lid on the auto apparently are held just by clips, so they can be pulled off. However I don't seem to be able to easily pull off these two items on my console box. Wonder if the console box on the manual is different from the auto and the lid is actually screwed down!! Can't find any screws though!

I was trying to disasseble it too, but I couldn't. BTW I destroyed my fingers to blood... All I could was lift up the "elbow" box a bit so the metal looking pieces we better accesible, but I couldn't demount it.
BTW I think there are no screws. Almost whole mounting in this car is done without screws. They use clips.

i've done that many times (at least 4) (for vaistech ipod adapter installation and for DVD/Nav mod)
it is quite easy to do...
there are no any screws definitely - only some amount of clips + some foam (anti-rattle perhaps)
use any plastic tool...
actually, there should be some photos which i were maid in progress - i'll try to find them.
