Hi....had 2 years free service on the IS200SE which I bought new and got the third one in March. Mileage is very low at 10,500K. Last year I was told that the alloys would be changed because of corrosion - 4 of them not the spare wheel, which is brand new. Is this normal or would they usually do the whole lot?

Also, anyone know roughly what the cost would be for the 3rd service...this is the first service I will actually be paying for. The mileage last year was around 6500 and now its just 10.5K....so I shouldn't be expecting a shocker I hope.

Any tips apprectiated cool.gif

The alloys normally would be just the four, but if you can see any tiniest amount of corrosion
on the spare I would demand that it is changed also.
The service should be relatively painless due to the mileage I would hope.

The service will cost the same basic charge as a normal 30K service (or third yearly) but obviously the wear and tear will be minimal hopefully......so brake pads, discs, tyres etc should be fine.....

Best regards David

Depends on the alloys, they used to replace all 5 of the old five spoke alloys, but with the newer 11 spoke alloys they only replace the ones that are corroding. As yours is an '05' I expect it has the newer alloys? If so then that is correct, unless your spare is also corroding..........

I've always had pretty low mileage too, but every service has seemed to set me back about £4-500 - however, that is really the only expenditure on the car each year maintenance wise so was never really a big problem smile.gif

Thanks guys, also would I be able to keep the old alloys as I can use them on another car? They are mine after all. I asked the service guy last year and he said they need to show the work has been done, so no. But seems a bit off as it's essentially my property and the items are faulty due to corrosion.

I think the wheels are on an exchange basis mate.

Thanks, so they're brand new ones...I do hope they don't fob me off with some reconditions ones:)

DJ Wozza
They may be reconditioned ones, but so good as you will not be able to tell.
I am led to believe every dealer has a set being reconditioned all the time,
so they will take your old wheels and get them reconditioned and replace
someone else's wheels with those..... and so on
