Hi i have been looking into supercharging my is200, and its due for a cambelt change and full service gerneral overhaul etc.
so was wondering how much faffing about would be needed if i was to transplant a altezza Rs200 engine into a lexus shell after all it the same chasis etc so my guess before delving into this transplant i have a few question
1. has it been done
2. was it cost effective in comparrison to a supercharger afterall its the sam BHP give or take
3. how much change was needed
or is this not worth doing and just buy an altezza, the only reason im thinking of doing this is due to the price and avaliability of a subercharger,
Any help appreciated guys

Just buy a Tezza would be my suggestion,
Then find some secondhand leather seats etc to bring it up to the same spec,
Less work and most likely cheaper than the transplant,

Won't sound as nice or be as smooth, but probably a bit quicker maybe than a std S/C version (?)
and probably a lot easier going Stav's route:D
Come for a ride in mine matey and see if you like the S/C .

nah man if you wnat real power get youself a 1JZ-GTE engine with a R154 Transmission (i think) or do like matt and GPsports car did and drop a 2JZ-GTE with a Getrag tranmission. proper power 250 bhp+ running standard with potential for so much more.

I agree either buy an altezza or go the whole hog and drop a supra engine into it!

They go very quickly as they now cost about 4K to buy new so second hand ones get snapped up!!

Mate i would just do the engine transplant 2k would get you a good condition 1JZ-GTE and gearbox. then all that would be need is to marry up the wiring and do engine mounts and slight engine modifications. once fitted you would have something thats is good for at least 200bhp and would be tunable to over 300bhp easily. Plus it would be different.
