The new 'Green Zone' that arrived last week in London means that cars with an emissions figure of 225 or above will now pay £25 a day to enter the area.

IS 250 manual = 231, so they will pay the charge.

IS 250 auto = 214, so they will not pay the charge.

Sorry, I've got the timing wrong. The new congestion charge for higher polluting cars comes into effect in October this year.

Yup for now, but soon Ken will have conquered the entire area inside the M25 so the congestion charging zone will spread.

And like many great kings of the past will continue North until all of the UK will to pay homage to the great man and the congestion charge.

Stupid question I guess, but how will Red Ken know whether a car is manual or automatic? When will people stand up to this awful Government's attitide towards car owners? Highest petrol costs in the EU, taliban parking zealots etc....

At least the original plan was for cars going forward like the road tax, so cars registered in 06 onwards. Has anyone looked at the details of this? It's for cars registered from March 2001.............

This means as I live in the zone, my 5 year old IS200 is going to be liable for the £25 charge, and I get no residents discount from October onwards........to say I'm a little annoyed is an understatement.

I cannot stand this, I can understand implementing this going forwards, but forcing people to buy new cars is simply taking the p*ss, I hope stupid ken never meets me, cos I might just have to smash his face in.

And I also can't wait till one of those green numptys to go "oh if you can afford to live in the zone, you can afford to buy a new car" as they may also lose their face too........

When the registration plate is run through the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system it will tell them whether or not the car is an automatic and what it should be paying in Congestion Charge.

The only possible way out is to vote the numpty out of office - I can't understand why Londoners have put up with him for so long.

Easy answer to that, too many council estates in central london..........
