I want to buy a 1999 ls400 but when i went to see it the boot was full of water and fungus growing on the spare wheel.
Is there any problems with the rest of the car rusting due to the water ingress.
The satelite navigation is also pure white nothing on it and none of the audio equipment works. Please help. any advice greatfully appreciated.

Hi

My advise would be walk away and find another, the water will have affected it somehow. There are plenty more around

I believe the sat nav gubbins is in the boot, a new front console may not fix it, If you really want to buy it then I would take all the carpet out of the boot including the back and sides and see what has got wet, in my 430 it is full of very expensive looking electrical bits....

There are various posts on here about a wet boot, its usually the boot seal or the sunroof drain pipes which get disconnected on the sides of the boot so the water runs into the boot instead of out the bottom of the car....

It should be very cheap and excellent elswhere to make it worthwhile fixing it....

Good luck
