Any stuttering of the car or anything?
You really need a garage with and OBDII reader to find the fault code.

ok the garage has got back and it appears that the o2 sensor needs replacing. Apparently it is about £200 or so for the part, does this sounds rite?
cheers

For an O2 sensor?
Shouldnt think so, arent they just the plugs in the exhaust manifold? Like this:

I'm sure someone will confirm this, but if it is their no more than £100 i'm sure.

thanks for that Stav, i confirmed with the garage and it is like £250 inc vat & labour, so all in......i duno how much these costs on the IS200

Labour?
Its small screwdriver to unclip the connector, and a 19mm spanner to unscrew the thing.

I'd suggest you do it yourself.
Is there more than one O2 sensor, as if not that price seems to be in Rip Off territory ?

There's three, two on the manifold, one underneath but reachable with the car jacked up.
What was the fault code? so we can try and figure which one it is.

You should be able to do it yourself...i did one on my ex girlfriends Tigra....then reset the ecu which got rid of the code and all was ok after...

I got mine recently from Ebay...
arrived quickly from Hong Kong, and works a treat...
I got the ELM 327 as it is more compatible with other cars as well.. and only cost £28.64 inc delivery
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220196702758I have downloaded quite a few versions of software, most work fine, a couple don't..
And for any members local to me, I will offer to check codes for free
