Mate was parked on double yellow lines as he nipped to the cash machine
Only his back end bumper was on the yellow lines which led to a pelican crossing
When he got back to his car he seen a police man giving him 3 points and £60 fine
Can he do this?
My thoughts was as long as half your car is legal you are ok?

I think it is any part of a vehicle that is overhanging the T bar at the end of the lines. If there is no T bar at the end of the lines then contest it. (unless they change to another marking like a bay or something.)
Didn't think that 3 points+£60 was possible for just double yellows - was he over the zig-zag part?

I hought you had to be on the zig-zags to get 3 points ? (unsure about overhang)
Did he take a photograph of the car in relation to the lines ?
