Hello all,

The battery in the key has finished, just about managed to lock the doors after a while. Just wondering where the best place is to buy the batteries, as the 2nd key's battery also requires replacing, the third key is fine. Can you buy the batteries from, say Halford etc.. Do I need to reprogram the keys as the battery has failed. Your help would be much appreciated.

The battery you need is CR1616, nothing needs to be reprogrammed after you replace it, simply stick it in and all should work fine.

I recently had to replace mine and really struggled to find it, surprisingly enough ended up buying it at a market stall (having tried jewellers, boots, jessops, basically everywhere I could think of that would sell batteries like that)

Never tried Halfords though, but I'm sure your dealership will have them. If there's somewhere else that sells these batteries, I'd be interested to know for next time!

Thanks for the info mate. Friend of mine just told me he got his Ford battery from Halfords. Seeing as Halfords is opposite the Lexus dealer, I will try that first. Thanks again for the part no.

Just phoned my local Halfords and they stock the CR1616 batteries. Will pick them up tomorrow.

Makes sense, would be the one place I didn't try! Cheers, will bear that in mind next time smile.gif
