My brother in law has a x plate RX300 with 65k,he has owned it for 4 years. last month, without any forewarning, one morning it wouldnt start and called his local garage to have it picked up,and was then subsequently forwarded to Lexus in Glasgow who(eventually)diagnosed it with a broken camshaft.!!!.Till now the bill is £2000 with a further 3500k to fix.Just wondered if anyone has heard of this before to this engine. Not looking for an answer just maybe some thoughts from you guys.

I have not checked my self but at that price, is it not going to be cheaper to try and get a reconditioned engine?!
