My MK1 GS has had a Sport boot spoiler fitted prior to my ownership.
I've noticed the boot lid slams rather sharpish upon closing, and is quite heavy to open.
I'm presuming that this is due to the boot lid dampers not being used to the extra weight, but I can't see any adjustment on them.
Anybody know if there is adjustment, or is it a new pair of boot dampers?

my boot lid is factory fit and it still slams very quickly if u let go of it. i cant see any way of stopping it if u manage to sort it let me know how as it slams that badly it seems like something is going to break

Yeah, will do.
Not over happy with the slamming-shut myself either. Plus, temptation is to lift boot lid via spoiler, which seems under a fair bit of strain from the weight of boot.

I had the same problem with my boot lid because of the spoiler. I changed the damper set up with those from a gen sport model and it cured it.........................for about a month and then gradually went back to slamming. Im used to it now so it can stay that way.

Must admit, I'm not in the boot that much.....
