im thinking of buying a turbo kit and was just talking to one of my friends whos a mechanic about fitting one.as hes never done one let alone on an is200 before,we were just wondering if its possible to fit one without any previous experience or is it better off to get someone who knows what there doing

putting the mechanical parts on eg. manifold, turbo etc etc is easy enough, it gets a bit more technical once you get into the engine management side.

Basically fitting it if its a custom kit is ok with some mechanical knowledge, but mapping the Aftermarket ECU is the hard part and to be done by "reputable" tuners.

Thats what my general thought, thanks for letting us know.Really hoping the missus lets me get one now!

fitting a tte supercharger is something you could do easy yourself and sounds so nice too ,its designed for the 200 so doesnt cause any risk to your engine yet gives superb performance.defo turns heads with the whine it makes.

maybe mat can help with this one,how much hassle will a supra tt engine conversion be,i only ask as a friend of mine at work has informed me that one has come available through his uncle as hes crashed his in the snow this weekend.

would be a good option, if its uk spec then thats 320bhp out the box! i think its true the 2jz-gte can see 400bhp on standard turbos! but obivously theres alot more work involved to shoe horn the git into the IS!...

im not sure where the topic following the engine swap that 'gsportcars' done, he had quite alot of photo's and has had the technical experiance with the swap.... no doubt someone will dig out out asap wink.gif
