Hi,

Im seriously considering trading in my IS200 sport for a RX (albeit a used one) but I was just wondering rather than slight cosmetic ones are there any significant differences bettween the 300 and the 350 that make it worth seeking out a 350?

thanks in advance.

The changes are mainly under the skin I think :

1) More powerful engine in 350 which is slightly more economical
2) newer 350s have the MM system that plays MP3 CDs and new high resolution sat nav screen
3) slightly different 4wd system - supposed to offer better front to back torque split when needed - as if anyone would notice in real world!! LOL
4) Personally I think the RX300 has more comfortable seats - 350 seats seem a little softer.
5) Depending on model you can get the swiveling headlamps on 350 but not sure if these were on the 300?
6) 350 has more sound proofing around engine
7) 350 has newer 5 speed gearboxes which is meant to be smoother changing.

I have driven 300s and own a 350 and have to say the biggest difference is the performance - the RX 300 felt a little slow to accelerate sometimes the 350 can be genuinely quick when provoked.

Nice one dude thanks for that!

FWIW the 350 seems to be the totally refined product the RX300 should have been. A 3L V6 petrol engine was always going to be optimistic in a body of the RX smile.gif I think the 350 is a very capable product and wish one I could afford sad.gif

The other alternative is a GS300 SE-L - probably 6 months older but is a bit more 'pimped' if you know what I mean has a few more toys and for a 29yr old thats childishly important if you know what I mean!
