Hi Mate

How much do you want for the engine?

right now, im looking to find out how much the garage is going to charge me to get the engine out. once i know, i will post up.
dave1
Are front caliper carriers same as series 1 ?
maneesh
Just got off the phone with the garage. The cost to me of getting it stripped out is just not worth it.

As a result, I am now selling the car as it is.
Brake booster needs replacing
Oxygen sensor needs replacing
2nd hand bumper - damage to water bottle/front foglight wiring
N/S wing damaged
O/S wing, driver's door, passenger door and rear wing damaged
Undetermined damage to O/S suspension - coilover, brake discs intact, but the wheel is broken

I will also throw in the 5 original Lexus 18 inch sport rims for the buyer.
Car is currently located in Rayleigh, Essex.

The car does start, but is not driveable, due to the damaged O/S rim.

You will need to make your own arrangements to pick it up.

Car is advertised on other forums. First genuine buyer who can pay at least £1,250 will get the car.
It's worth more than that if you strip it out, or could make a project car.

See pics below.

I have the logbook, full lexus service history and all the bills since I've owned the car (which is last 2.5 years), and the accident damage is not recorded on any insurance register.
Anees
Can't you strip some of the small bits from the car yourself, such as the side repeaters, grill, lights, interior bits etc?
RayKhan
Feel for you Maneesh, just wish there was some way I could help.

yeah, that's what happens when you drive with a faulty brake booster and suddenly you are left without VSC or ABS

C'mon Mat, make another Monster out of it! You know you want to!

Didn't realise it was smacked on the other side too mate, I thought the damage was just N/S/F corner.
Did it have another accident with a temp bumper then ?

Yes, had another accident after the temp bumper was fitted. Garage told me not to take the car home until the brake booster got fixed. I went against his advice. Never again!

Really sorry to hear that mate, best of luck with the sale, what you gonna get next ?

Is that why you never called round to my house like you said you would on the way back from the garage?

No offence meant here but...... Are Mk2 GS's so dangerous that they cannot be driven without traction control/skid control (or whatever electronic wizardry it is they have)? Or are you just a complete nutter? tomato.gif There is a reason for asking, I would probably be looking at a Mk2 Sport at some point, but I certainly won't if they are the death trap and just let go for no reason.

1. The Mk2 chassis was designed with VSC as part of the environment in which it operates.
2. My car was lowered, stiffer, with coilovers, antiroll bars, and full chassis bracing. Therefore, the dynamics of the car had been altered from a standard model.
3. The brake booster problem led to the non functioning of ABS and VSC
4. The brakes locked up, and no ABS/no VSC meant I was unable to steer, hence the accident.
5. With hindsight, I was quite stupidly spending money to try and make a luxury cruiser into a sports car.

A mechanic from Lexus came to pick it up today. I was sad to see it go.

He's got an Aristo, so will be using lots of the parts.

When I'm on track days I always disable the traction and ABS, the cars handle better that way.
