It's between Mesa Red and Astral Black

Heart says former, head says latter

Trouble is can't find any pics of any Mesa Red RX ! It's not available as an option on the lexus website but it is available as an option in the latest brochure (including 2 extra colours also not on website)

Thoughts / pictures appreciated !

The Mesa red has to be seen to be believed. It sparkles in the right light. Heres mine ( i know its not an RX) on collection day, the garage were so impressed with the colour they put one in the showroom. And the GS looks just as impressive in Red. IMHO.

I managed to find a couple of pictures of an RX in Matador Red -- to be honest I was not as impressed -- is Matador Red the same as Mesa Red (this was a US website) ?

Didn't know they do a RX in Mesa Red.

TBH I've never actually seen a 'red' RX before. I am a [BIG] fan of this colour on cars like the IS and perhaps the GS (as commented above) - but on an RX I think it might be a colour too far. Not quite sure what it is - but I don't think this colour is best suited to a vehicle like the RX. I am in no way knocking Mesa Red - if I were buying an IS I think that would be a definite colour choice for me (its kinda like Imola Red BMW do for the E46). This is one of those colours that is suited only to a particular shape, design and model of vehicle and not to be ported across the range.

Although I might change my mind if I see an RX 'in the flesh' in Mesa Red But I am in no way that bold to 'risk' £45k on a gamble on this type of bold colour.

i've got an astral black RX but if i'd have seen one that colour i think i may have gone for that.

i can see why people might think it ont work but i think it will. all the big posh SUV's are either black, silver or a dark colour.

According to the Lexus website the RX isnt available in any red in the UK

thats what he says, but its in the brochure it says it is.

all depends when the brochure was printed, it may be the latest edition but it could have been printed months ago and as it says on the back Lexus reserve the right to change specifications at any time. The website is usually the most upto date

The LS comes in a very similar colour, called siena red.

red or black are both nice colours,blacks nice if if you like cleaning your cars a lot if not go for the red

Does anyone know if Matador Red and Mesa Red are the same colour ? On the US forums they refer to it as Matador Red ....
