Hi,
today I take ownership of an N reg GS 3.0 SE (>102k miles!). This may be a short marriage, as we need to rethink our vehicle strategy when the daughter heads off to uni in October (assuming she stops partying...).
I would not have considered buying such a high mileage car, even at £2200, unless it was a Lexus, but it still worries me that I will shortly be bleeding money to maintain it.
Any suggestions of things to watch for, or reasonable non-dealer specialist service agents in Oxfordshire/Wiltshire?

What service history has it got? If properly maintained these are pretty bulletproof.

Welcome to LOC.
If your vehicle has been service as per owner hand book, then your car will not cost you a arm and leg.
Be sure to check timing belts service.
Enjoy your new car.

Thanks All,
the service book appears complete. It is due a service now, so I told the garage I'd get it done (helped reduce the price). It was done at 92k, so is due aound now (current mileage 102k).
Belt was done at 60k. There is a bit of vibration up the wheel which starts at 60mph, but this doesn't happen all the time. Also slight grind/squeal from one wheel when braking.
Planning to ask garage to check tracking/tyres etc when I take it in. They quoted £256 for a standard service, but I do wonder whether at 102k I need to maintain servicing with Lexus.
Otherwise, car is very clean, zero marks - one long term elderly gent who was handly with a chammy. Nice(!) shade of beige/silver.

I'd get them to check the brakes if you've got a slight vibration and squeal.

Thanks for the welcome all.
I'll endeavour to add my experiences (and queries!) to the site.......
Coming to the end of my first tank of petrol. MPG calculation due shortly......................
First motorway run a dream, apart from some judder through the steering wheel around 60, but it seems possible to drive through it. Something to check tho'.
