had my main cat removed and bigger piping put on with a new centre box. it sounds horried about 10 times louder if not more so took it back to them and asked could he put the old centre box in aswell as he put the new box where the cat was. he said it would change the loudness and refused to do it.
has anyone else done this???

why would you want to remove all the cats???
i guess that you had the warning lights on all the time?
if you are paying then why should he refuse? its your car so tell him to do it - simple!

took it out to make it more free flowing since needed new piping anyway and is gettin a o2 simulator to stop engine light.
prob with gettin him to do it is when i asked he said it would be to much work at not worth him doing and when i argue with him he got his big friend to kick me out of his garage and basic said your car aint road legal now you dont want the police to find out.
so not somewhere im goin again lol

I have not cat on mine. With the standard backbox or the HKS Silent HiPower, it does nearly no noise. With a "sport" backbox, it did hit 118dB

How much does it cost to get rid of a few cats I dont want to go illegal & the fuss oh changing it for the MOT etc although its only once a year lol.. Will it increase the sound without a larger system I have a standard middle section and a Kaz1 exhaust which can be loud but I'd like even louder

wont be going to essex to get it done

What are the emissions like without the cats? have you checked? they might even be inside reg's???? These engines are pretty awesome.
The JZ series in the GS are just.... sublime. Turbine like. The short stroker 1jz (not GS) is a doddle to tune, and the 2jz breathes fire when blown. Yamaha engines.
I wonder about the cats? 3-way system... <sigh>
The benefits really come on the decat on the turbo'ed motors - back pressure release ahh. breathing again. The blown 1jz can hit safety boostcut ECU cut with a decat - it's that sensitive. But are the benefits really worth it on the exhaust-side for the normally aspirated models?
