Hi folks hope you can help me with this,
I was driving to work this morning when what sounded like a fan belt squeal started and as soon as it fininshed a large puff of white smoke came out of the back, the car is an 01 is200 sport with 73k miles.
The car currently has a full lexus service history.
Any ideas what could have caused this?
A worried is200 owner.

Sorry about the delay, work has been hectic!!
Unfortunately I also needed a second person to hold the bonnet up as the clip that holds the bonnet stay to the bonnet broke and lexus still havent got the part in!!
So I opened the bonnet and realised that theres a fecking belt missing!! I found the remains lying on the tray below the engine.
The part number on the belt states 99364-30300, it is the closest belt to the fan, any ideas which belt it is?

belt missing!!! Thats not good!!
Is it the fan belt? I take it, it's not the cambelt or the car would have been a poorly so and so.

I have been told by Lexus that its the Air Con belt, thankfully I can still drive the car without it until I source a new one! They still haven't got tthe clip for my bonnet stay, thats nearly a month now!!
Thinking about it now the air con was on when the squeal happened.
Thanks all for your replies!
