Well hids turned up today, thought ive got a few hours to kill ill get em stuck in smile.gif

fallen at the frst hurdle, where the bloody hell do you ft the ballasts on a gs ? you aint got no room to play with smile.gif i think its going to be a strip down just to find a suitable spot.
any one with a mk1 thats fitted hids take a piccie of their ballast location ?

on another bit, i got with the hid kit a "http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/hid-accessories.html" go to bottom to battery harness do you think this is needed?

I mounted my ballasts below the headlamps. Basically, take the indicator off and you will see one of the headlight mounting bolts underneath the indicator. Take that out and bend the top tab of the ballast bracket at 90 degrees. You can then slip the ballast (in the bracket) down behind the bumper and use the headlamp bolt you just removed to fix it in place. If you need a pic, let me know and I'll pop an indicator out and do a quick shot for you.

I didn't need a battery harness, just plugged straight into the normal headlamp bulb harness and bobs your uncle.

yeah cheers R kid, i popped mine in loose at the mo smile.gif just to make sure they worked, and in the progres snapped the 10mm bolt holding the battery strap on sad.gif

but at least they work, and the weekend is coming so ill do them properly (and re tap that hole)
dis you call that garage up?

I know it'll be different, but in my Mk.2 the driver's side one is screwed to the side of the air filter box, the passenger side one is stuck down on the flat metalwork behind the headlight.
