My IS200 has developed a squeeling noise thet sounds like brakes binding. but only when it gets over 20mph. It`s been back to Lexus Sheffield twice but they say there is nothing wrong. Any ideas ???

Have a look at the backing plates/shields that are at the back of the disc's and see if there rubbing? (Does it happen when turning or all the time whilst driving??) as sometimes they catch and need a little push back smile.gif

Thanks for the welcome and really appreciate the info. It happens all the time while driving but like I said earlier, only when the speed goes above 20mph - then it`s constant. There is still some warranty left on the car from the approved used scheme so I think I will give Lexus Sheffield a call and book the car back in for them to sort it. Once again thanks for the tip.

Get them to check all your belts and if need be tighten them up..or could need some belt spray/wax

I have booked the car back into the dealers, so I will get them to check everything. They have asked me to take on of their technicians out for a road test when I get there so fingers crossed they find out what it is. Goes in Friday morning and I am going to leave it with them overnight. I`ll let you guys know what happens over the weekend.

Once again thanks for the help. smile.gif

Thought I would give you an update out of courtesy...seems you hit the nail on the head. The guys at Lexus Sheffield adjusted the backing plates, stripped the brakes down and hey-presto all I hear now is the smooth running car I had before - just as a Lexus should be. Excellent service by the gargae - highly recommended and my IS250 will be coming from there in the not too distant future.
