just random surfin the net and came across a webpage kempower.be loadsa performance stuff on there inc tte supercharger kits for e5700. cheapest ive ever heard of them being! site is in english but wouldnt kno weather to trust it- anybody else heard of this place?
DJ Wozza
Don't know the site, but just had a look..
The 5.700,00 Euro is excluding VAT also, so it is still well the wrong side of £4,000 by my reckoning.
bridgerippa
yeah i went back n used the site currency converter £4350 roughly. they do have importers in the uk tho. wonder what the group buy price would be!!!
DJ Wozza
Too much matey, bearing in mind the last lot was sold last year for about £1,700 a pop.
I know supply & demand etc, but still way too much IMO.
bridgerippa
well yeah not inc vat either. will just have to carry on without the wine
aaronabbott
if only they dropped the price just to get rid of them, tte have 4 left and they still want 6000euros as if anyone is ever gonna pay that when its probably gonna cost more than the car
Rob
wasnt kempower something to do with TDi?? i seem to remember the pulley upgrade details on that site when mark wouldnt discuss it here......
sparkystav
Yeah on their site they offer a "stage 2" charger upgrade that uses a HKS FCON.

I propose a group buying for:

Buy an Eaton M62 compressor from a Mercedes-Benz 230 Kompressor (about € 300 in a scrapyard or ebay).

Ditto with an appropriate intercooler (new or used from other car) and piping, is not very difficult.

The only original necessary parts are:

1 - support compressor (knowing the exact dimensions is easy to make it)
2 - the piggyback (maybe apexi or greddy?)
3 - the body of throtle-compressor and cabling (I don't have a solution yet)
4 - Air Filter box from tte (not very much expensive)

Unable to get this kit around 1,500 €?

How do you think?

You will also need pulley and belt, something to keep the belt tight, intake pipe, and from what ive been told, the TTE airbox is not cheap at all biggrin.gif

Yes you right, was an approach...

Maybe could be modified the original airbox or fit an induction kit.

The belt cost around 35 pounds and the pulley knowing the dimensions is easy to make it.

The intake pipe... more difficult but we can speak here to find solutions whistling.gif

Eaton m62 supercharger from USA:

Ebay item number: 280225343754

The intake pipe is best bought from TTE in my opinion, the rest of the pipe work can be made by any component exhaust manufacturing garage.

Just looking at that supercharger that for sale, you still going to need parts for the outlet of the supercharger, and the pulley is smaller than the TTE one.

You can use induction kit over the TTE airbox, will work out cheaper that way.

I do have the parts list, and have fitted a fair few biggrin.gif

Well I propose an alternative to the previous, please see the link:

http://www.bellengineering.net/Pages/produ...percharger.html

1.8L MOAB w/ BEGi Fuel System $4695.00
1.8L MOAB w/ No Fuel System $4200.00
1.8L MOAB w/ Xede Engine Management $ 5665.00
List price will be $4995 w/o fuel system

*Note the price in USD

Why nobody makes something like this for IS200?

Now that price discounts these things for a basic kit without IC (the Lysholm charger is more efficient than Eaton):

Intercooler - SC - 2.25" x 8.0" x 18.0"
Cast Aluminum Intake Manifold
Radiator Cover
Air Scooper
Exhaust Manifold Heatshield
Injector Heatshield
Boost Gauge
A-Pillar Gauge Mount
Black Powdercoated Tubes

And yes, add the I+D cost and a reasonable margin trading, it's possible to make a kit around 2,500-3,000 euros?

Imagine a group buy with 20 persons willing to advance the 50% of the budget to the company that manufactured the first round of this kit.
