Due to the fact I had replaced the factory Stereo and amplifier with my own stuff, the sub woofer built into the parcel shelf was no longer required. I decided to take it out and use the opening as a way into the car cabin for the Vibe Active Subwoofer in the boot. As this involved removing the parcel shelf, I thought I would document the procedure.

Step 1: Remove the bench seat base. To do this pull up hard and sharp on the leading edge of the seat. This will unpop the clips at the front.

Step 2: pull the seat base forward towards the front of the car to release the hooks on the rear edge and witdraw the bench from the car.

Step 3: Now undo the four bolts securing the botton edge of the seat back. One on either end and two in the middle near the arm rest.

Step 4: Push the seat back up towards the roof of the car. This will release the hooks at the top of the seat back and it can now be tipped forward.

Step 5: Undo the screws on the seat belt guides. The seat back can then be removed from the car.

Step 6: The leading edge of the parcel shelf is secured using 3 clips. Lever these clips out carefully.

Step 7: The speaker grill leading edge clips into the subwoofer mount. This must be released before the parecel shelf can be removed. Using a large screwdriver, carefully prise the leading edge up to unclip it. Be very carefull not to rip the material.

Step 8: The shelf can now be pulled out towards the front of the vehicle.

Step 9: Inclip the seatbelt trim and then feed the belt out of the cut in the parcel shelf.

The parcel shelf can now be withdrawn. The highlevel brake light cable is long enough to remove the shelf out of the side of the car without disconnecting.

The next steps are just remove the subwoofer.

Step 10: Remove the four bolts and remove the speaker and mount.

Step 11: Remove the speaker from the mount. It is glued into the mount so some leavering is required to free it and remove it.

Re-assembly is just the reverse of the removal.

Hope this tutorial is usefull. Any questions, please feel free to ask smile.gif
