I have a TRD front lip awaiting fitting. It is a genuine Lexus part and comes with full fitting kit. There is a sticky back grey rubber strip included which sticks along the length of the top of the lip. I will be getting the lip sprayed Astral Black and was wondering should this strip be stuck on and sprayed too? Has anyone else seen this and fitted it or have you just done without it? I cant see any sign of it in anyone else's photos.

You have to take it off, and re-use it mate, lexus dont sell it on its own, thay do for the side skirts but not for the front lip biggrin.gif

I dont think id get it sprayed either as its rubber and as it moves/flexes it will crack.

I was thinking it shouldn't be sprayed, but as it is grey and the car is black, it wouldn't look right fitted. Sorry Gord I don't really understand what you mean??? Got this photo of it from another post.

It doesn't seem to be on this photo though

That looks like Chris's car...to be honest i've not seen one painted as they've all been grey.

You could just use a black sealant.

I've seen Chris's new car the sealants still black around the edge of the Red kit, and it looks really good to me.

does anyone know if a black rubber seal exists, or is there any other black rubber product which would do the job?

Depends on the thickness, could try a glazing bead and trim to fit?

sounds like a plan. I think I'll look into that. Any other ideas on the matter, has anyone fitted a trd lip themselves?

That's my hand fitting the rubber sealing. Anyway, there is such a tiny bit of the sealing visible that you won't notice it when the skirt is fitted. I can take a few photos for you tomorrow if you want smile.gif
