Hi all, I have just purchased an ls400 from a fellow member and I don,t know what the shiftlock / overdrive button does. When I press it no lights come on and there is no different in performance. I know overdrive acted like an extra gear but that was back in the 70's was'nt it, Hope you can help me out.

Do you mean overide rather than overdrive?

Shiftlock overide... overides the shiftlock. (shift as in gear shifter)

i.e. you can move the gearstick away from park without the engine on, having your foot on the brake, etc.

Handy for moving it out of the way when you are cleaning or maintenance.
