Wondered if anyone has any advice about roof bars and roof boxes for the IS220D at all?

Thinking of investing in some for forthcoming camping trip but wanted to check if anyone has any experience of such things on the IS range.

Particulary concerned about possibly marking the car, how they fit, whether should go for Lexus accessories or just get from Halfords (Thule).....or simply not bother at all!!

I bought the bars from lexus as the price was almost the same if buing aftermarket.

The box I bought the thule spirit, because it is the most aerodynamic box I found. The noise is increased but the consumption went up only by app. 0,5l/100km, so I am very satisfied.

I must say the car is perfect with the box, very stable in turns even when loaded.

I wouldn/t trust a UK dealership with pricing. After trying to charge me a 100% mark up for a tow bar I went straight to the suppliers. I got a Thule kit supplied and fitted for £170, Now it was heavily discounted for me as the supplier is now one of my sponsors, but even so, Thule kits are good quality and reasonably priced. Any trailer centre should be able to help you out.

you are lucky guy. I asked lexus for tow bar, they said - 1000euros.
I called aftermarket seller - he has only one towbar for IS220d - brink (toyota uses brink too)
price? 700 euros!

the problem is with the police. In the documents to the car is written, I can use only brink towbar. damn.

As I say my price is because the company sponsor me on track. I got a Witter removable bar fitted by the same company for just under £400. It requires some minute cutting to the rear sill to fit it. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.
