Hi Rob,
Welcome to the rare breeds society. For a while I thought the whole club was for IS 200s but there are some others out there. It will be nice not to be the only GS300 for a change if our liverpudlian contingent makes it. Nothing against ISs you understand but, they do get stuck between my teeth and I once had one bring out a filling. still, breakfast is the most inportnat meal of the day...
*Loz ducks the hail of IS owner bullets raining down in retaliaiton* Only kidding guys, if I had taste, I'd be dangerous....now where did I put my cord flares? Just got time to tie dye them before tomorrows meet!

Any MkI owners willing to make an old man happy by letting him have sit in it?

SPEED CAMERAS ON ROADWORKS - LYMM VIADUCT
Just a note for people travelling South (M6) over the Lymm bridge roadworks;
(round J21 area), there is a 40mph speed restriction throughout the roadworks, on both sides of the carriageway, and this is enforced by number plate recognition video cameras.
Anybody not aware how these work, they film you at set points at the beginning & end of a measured section, and then give an average speed between the 2 points. Hence slowing down and smiling when yoe spot a yellow camera and speeding up again won't work.
Keep it to 40 and turn-up the tunes.
Regards,
Steve J.

Yeah, I clocked the Stockport meet. fancy extra half hour in bed though, and am most likely to have the wife and bin-lids in tow, awaiting transportation to Cheshire Oaks. Don't think they'd be too keen on playing musical-motorways.
I'm over at Lowton, Leigh.

My guess is that if you do know how to spell it, you must have owned one at some stage to read the lable, so I'd hope it's incorrect.

more than welcome Sammy - sure one of the guys will be a gentleman and escort you.
If you need directions, then they are basically
Get thyself to the M56 - M6 Junction 20 is the easiest description.
From there - drive down to junction 15.
There are two exits - first one read M53 Chester, then 100 yards later M53 Birkenhead / Wallasey - you want the second exit.
stay in the left hand lane, as you will only be on the M53 for 400 yards - as soon as you join, bear left off on the A5117.
At the roundabout at the bottom of the exit - third exit is the one you want - you'll see Lexus Chester as you come around.
Take that third exit off the roundabout, then take first right, loop around past the Skoda dealership, into Lexus Chester
see you there!

Coming from York way - so M62 ....... I assume then M62 to M6, leave M6 at j15 ......
How long will it take (at legal speeds) and what time will people be arriving - don't want you to have all disappeared when I get there!!!
I won't be refused entry if I come in a Honda will I ???

thats the "safest" way - easiest to give directions for.
you could come through Warrington (or even Liverpool), but the directions are much more complex - stick to M62/ M6 / M56 / M53.
coming that way, junction 20 on the M6 - and keep right for the M56.
junction
20 off the M6
junction
15 off the M56

Wassup People!
Great to meet you all today, those who showed up all realised two things pretty quick.
1. ONLY LEXUS would have a dealership with 12 cars full of people parked outside their showroom for an hour and NOT open up... talk about exlusiveness gone mad
2. It was actually a Honda Meet as Ultraviolet made us all drool. then she let us near her car and it was awsome.
Thanks for the style tips all you IS owners. I will be asking zee if he could kindly post a link to the takyshimi whatsit website for the BK flamer mods. and if anyone knows a reputable No2 supplier and fitter, I might be interested in a conversation about a staged 100 horse Noz kit... oh dear, the INsurance people wont like that...
Great day, great food, great people. Cant wait till the next one.
Thanks Mat and Mat for orgs and thank you TGI Friday for the fun and games at the end of the meal . not laughed so hard since I got out of Rykers Island.
ps. better post this now before my dail up goes do-lally...

not going to take any credit for suggesting a meet @ a closed car dealership
what happened at TGI Fridays?
my father enjoyed himself too - especially the sit in Loz's GS (Loz - just send me the cleaning bill mate if that stuff doesn't just wipe off

)
I had to leave, get packed to travel tonight, and knew shopping was in the pipeline, as I had been away all week.
What I hadn't banked on was SWMBO and her sister wanting to go to Cheshire Oaks.
So, turned around, drove back - saw some of the guys standing around, and beeped - preety sure Mat W saw me and waved!
good to see you guys - look forward to the next one

Hey there boys!! Only another dozen or so meets and I'll remember who everyone is!!!
And perhaps one day I'll drive straight there without getting lost (mental note - meet at my house.....)
Big thanks to Loz for being the kind Gent and escorting me back to the M62 ...... then being even more gallent and staying with me even though I guess he usually travels the motorway a tad quicker.......
Lots of new faces - friendly people, lots of chat and banter as usual....... highlight of the passenger rides ........ a certain chap who shall remain nameless

who giggled like a maniac the first time I put my foot down!

Also got the ride down the twisties rather than the main roads - which was much more fun...... even if he was hanging onto the OMG handle for most of it!
Somewhere more Veggie friendly for us vegetables next time for eats please - and let the dealer know we expect tea/coffee and biscuits on our arrival - and test drives of whatever they have.
Finally - thanks to Zee. Just for being Zee!

Well it started off great. For some strange reason i had the desire to look at skodas but i guess thats another story. After I left the lexus place I went for a quick nosey around the shops at Cheshire oaks. I couldn't find a good parking place and then I noticed the NSX was following me. Doh. I must apologise for not seeing you sooner.
Anywhose, when I noticed the Honda, I headed back to TGI's and met you all again. Parked the car and did a bit of this and that. Went round the back of the car and noticed a flat tyre. Decided to shoot off to a local repairers rather swap it over. Got to a local Quick Rip and told them the tale but told them I didn't need new shocks and an exhaust, just the puncture fixing. They said Ok and took the wheel off..... and then the shock....... no Puncture........Just a bent rim...........Doh. When I was driving in the car parks of Cheshire oaks I remember just clipping a kerb but ignored it. Put spare on... went home....cried.....drank jack daniels...cried more.
Apart from that, it was great to put names to faces.
Hope to see you all again sometime.
Ps. Got some piccies to post.

OK OK. I bent the rim but she broke the door mirror, scratched the spoiler, scraped the NS doors etc etc etc. She wonders why I never let her near the Stag.
As for the full sport set up, i know where there is a nice silver one.
Hmmmmmm, niiiiiiice.
I would love to get hold of a grille purely just to get rid of the hideous thing thats on it now.
First things first though. A trip to Pro clean in the morning to get my wheel straightened

Anyway, glad everyone made it back to the fort. RobF (LS400) you really ought to have that brick removed from your right foot. either that or buy a big supply of front bumpers!
