Is there any way to make this work with a 1999 GS satnav?

I'm not sure. Vaistech doesn't list any vehicles before US year 2001 but then again they also state the GS uses CD emulation without text when in fact MD emulation works fine and therefore you do get text. Maybe the US vehicles use a different stereo system to the EU ones.

I think it would work but the connectors would probably be different
