thats why i haven't bought it already,£2500 does seem an extraordinary amount of money to spend considering the price cars are dropping now cos of fuel prices id rather trade in the is200 and put £2500 in and p/x for an is300 or supra etc.but at the end of the day its your money and its only worth what people are willing to pay for it.

good luck if you do go for it smile.gif
boddamloon
The one good thing with buying a charger is that i very much doubt you will loose money on it when you come to sell so think of it as an investment mate.
Rabster
thanks guys

i was gonna treat it as a company investment lol

i know i would never get the price back on the car but if anything the charger might go up in value, the only thing thats putting me off is its been on a ebay a few days now and in the past i have spotted one checked my bank gone to buy and its sold but this one hasnt which makes me scpetical

i emailed the seller last night so just playing the waiting game now see if they email back
aaronabbott
i know it gonna be an investment but at that price how much more money are you gonna make?
the way i think of it is say you come to sell it in 1 or 2 years would you yourself pay for it then

I think the £2500 is a bit to much to pay IMHO, Supercharger kits are gong for about £2000.

4 yrs ago supercharger kit was selling for £3000 new, at one point, and one place was charging £4500 fitted ohmy.gif some people was paying that price tooo.

Thay did come down in price at one time, i sold new supercharger kit for £1500 ohmy.gif but that was the market at that time, Prolex then sold the last one's that Toyota GB had, at a very good price, now its very hard to get hold of one ohmy.gif agian it down to the selling market at the time, and as somone has said, its only worth what someone will pay at the time, most people sell the supercharger kit through this club, and from what ive seen over the years, its down o how many new members the club has, and how many members wanting one.

I dont think @ £2000 for the kit, you are going to make much money, but im sure you will make the money back when you come to sell the supercharger kit in later years.

IMHO anyway biggrin.gif
sparkystav
I dont reckon its too bad a price, esp if you used the black box, you'd prob get £100 back if you stuck the Emanage blue on Ebay.

Maybe £2200 would be better for it including the intercooler etc.

Just my opinion.

Stav
DJ Wozza
£2,000 is about right as when it came to selling, that is about what you should expect to get,
£2,500 would be too much IMO.
84Stoney
I would have said about £2000 is fair.

It does come with induction kit, filter, bigger FMIC, Emanage, carbon scoop, and silicone hoses. That must be £700-800 (RRP) over and above the standard kit.

When mine was done, it cost nearly £5k fitted! (Thank you previous owner!)

If anyone on here does get it, I'd be interested in the scoop and hoses, if by any chance they were not required!
DJ Wozza
the hoses come with 'em so I thought....
Rabster
well it might not be me as my insurance company will cancel my policy if i put it on lol
DJ Wozza
I am with Sky Insurance in Enfield (broker) and got me a good deal with mods declared biggrin.gif
Tesco & Barclays (all through Norwich Union at the time) quoted quite well with the charger on too.

Pretty sure they come with black standard hoses and i thought i saw blue silicone ones for £70ish recently from Prolex.

EDIT: Found this post here where you yourself told someone they were £38 from TDI!
